Derek Mitchell, 35, allegedly assaulted his wife on four occasions betwen December 24, 2009 and December 9, 2011.
He is charged with assaulting her on December 24, 2009 at the NCP car park on Mitchell Street, Glasgow, on May 21, 2011; on a street in Eaglesham; and on September 30, 2011 at Mar Hall in Bishopton.
The last alleged assault in December 2009 is said to have taken place at the venue 29, in Glasgow city centre, after a Cash for Kids event.
The charge relating to May 21, 2011 is of assault to severe injury and permanent disfigurement by pulling her finger back and breaking it.
He also faces a charge of willfully and recklessly destroying Ms McGuire's car on April 25, 2010.
Mr Mitchell, whose address was given as East Kilbride, made no plea or declaration when he appeared in private at Paisley Sheriff Court today, represented by lawyer Stephen Bentley.
He was released on bail by Sheriff Mungo Bovey.
