Inspectors did not have clear training in fire safety

Health board inspectors failed to ensure legal requirements were met when examining fire safety standards at a care home where 14 pensioners later died in a blaze, an inquiry heard.

The Fatal Accident Inquiry into the fire at Rosepark Care Home in Uddingston, in January 2004, was yesterday shown a number of documents relating to inspections carried out by Lanarkshire Health Board.
