Jail for man who conned two councils

A ROGUE businessman who conned more than £370,000 from two Scottish councils has been jailed for three years.

Mangal Dhami, 45, banked £102,846 from South Lanarkshire Council and £270,828 from North Ayrshire Council.

Dhami, of Wolverhampton, duped staff at the councils into thinking he was authorised to change bank details for payments to building firms Maxi Construction Ltd and Barr Ltd between June and October 2010.
