A man was set to go on trial at Dundee Sheriff Court following days of delays that had seen jurors threatening to complain to their MSP and storming out of court.
On Friday - after some jurors had sat for four days without a trial starting due to legal arguments and witness problems - a jury was to be selected for a case set for trial. But it then emerged that at least one juror had been discussing the case with the accused.
The trial was postponed and is now expected to get under way later this week.
A Scottish Court Service spokesman said: "The staff at Dundee appreciate the frustrations experienced by those who attended and have apologised to those affected."
