Man faces court over murder

A man has appeared at Paisley Sheriff Court charged with the murder of convicted killer Stewart Gillespie.

Norman Carlton, 27, is alleged to have repeatedly stabbed the 53-year-old at his home in Glencairn Road, Paisley, on October 3

Carlton is also alleged to have attempted to murder 32-year-old Robert Lawther by striking him with a knife to his severe injury and the danger of his life.
