A MAN is to face trial accused of endangering a woman's life by injecting her with insulin.

Andrew McKay, a diabetes sufferer, is said to have carried out the act upon alleged victim Kelly McCallum, to her injury and to the danger of her life, at a house in Shieldhill, Falkirk, on April 12.

It is alleged the incident was either an assault, or alternatively an act of culpable recklessness.

McKay, 31, of Nisbet Drive, Denny, Stirlingshire, faces a second charge on the same indictment, alleging that on the same date and at the same address, he assaulted Ms McCallum to her injury by repeatedly pushing her, repeatedly seizing hold of her hair and pulling her by the hair, punching her on the head, and butting her on the head, to her injury.

At Stirling Sheriff Court yesterday, McKay pleaded not guilty to both charges.

Sheriff Pino Di Emidio continued the case for trial in February..
