Man guilty of station murder bid

A man who punched a father-of-one causing him to fall under the wheels of a train has been convicted of attempted murder.

The High Court in Glasgow heard Justin McDonald, 40, struck Philip Gault after they got off a train at Coatbridge Sunnyside station in August 2011.

They had been arguing over a can of lager after McDonald had demanded Mr Gault, 33, give him a can while the pair were on the train. Mr Gault refused before giving a can to another passenger.
