The owner of Edinburgh Woollen Mill has been fined £500 and had six points put on his licence after he admitted careless driving.

Philip Day said he was rushing home to his sick daughter when he made an unsafe manoeuvre on the Edinburgh to Carlisle road in February, 2012. Yesterday he was handed the fine at Dumfries Sheriff Court.
