NIGEL Evans, the former deputy speaker of the House of Commons, will go on trial over sexual offences next March.
Evans, 55, MP for Ribble Valley in Lancashire, appeared at Preston Crown Court where his trial date was fixed for March 10. He is accused of two counts of indecent assault, one of rape and five of sexual assault.
