Officers at sex ordeal scene

Police have carried out patrols one week on from a terrifying ordeal in which a woman was forced to the ground in a sexually motivated attack as she walked home from a night out.

The 23-year-old had been with friends in Frederick Street in Edinburgh and was walking along St Vincent Street at around 2.40am last Sunday when she was grabbed from behind.

She struggled with her attacker and screamed before the man made off towards the Stockbridge area. Officers carried out patrols between 11pm and 4am on Friday, Saturday and Sunday night.
