JURORS considering their verdict in the trial of a man accused of murdering missing bookkeeper Suzanne Pilley were sent home for the night after beginning their deliberations.

Judge Lord Bracadale, who completed his legal directions to jurors yesterday, told them to resume deliberations this morning.

David Gilroy, 49, is on trial at the High Court in Edinburgh. He denies murdering Ms Pilley, 38, in Thistle Street, Edinburgh, or elsewhere in Scotland, on May 4, 2010.

Gilroy, from Silverknowes in Edinburgh, also denies attempting to defeat the ends of justice by concealing Ms Pilley's body and transporting it to various locations in a car boot.
