AN armed robber is being hunted by police after he stole money from a petrol station.
The man approached the attendant, who was closing up at the station in Glasgow Road, Denny, near Falkirk, and demanded cash.
He ran off with a three-figure sum in the direction of Paris Avenue at about 9.40pm on Tuesday.
Detective Inspector Graeme Hendry said: "This robbery left the attendant at the garage traumatised.
"We are appealing for anyone who witnessed this robbery, may recognise the description of the suspect or may have information about it to contact police."
The robber was white, aged 16 to 30, 5ft 8in to 6ft and of a slim build. He was wearing dark clothes, including a black hoodie with the hood up and white toggles untied.
In another robbery on Tuesday, a man with a knife stole money from a shop in Renfrewshire at about 7pm.
He entered the store in Broomlea Crescent, Inchinnan, and threatened staff before leaving with a three-figure sum of cash. He headed in the direction of Erskine.
Detective Inspector Sandy Nelson said: "We are analysing CCTV and conducting interviews. I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time to contact police with any relevant information."
The man was white, aged 18 to 25, about 5ft 5in to 5ft 8in, and of medium build. He was wearing a waistline black leather jacket, blue denim jeans, light trainers and a grey hooded top with the hood up. A scarf covered his face and he was also wearing dark gloves.
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
