Robber who tied up ex in-law jailed

A MASKED man who tied his former mother-in-law up with tape and cable, to try to steal cash from her, has been jailed for six and a half years.

Gordon Gilfillan, 34, attacked Nancy Marshall after she returned to her home in Alloa from the shop she ran with her husband in December 2012.

She was confronted by Gilfillan, his sidekick Steven Baird, 36, who was jailed for seven years, and another unidentified man.

When she told them there was no money in the house they wrapped tape around her eyes and bound her wrists with cable.

At one stage, the men told Nancy they would kill her dogs if she did not give them money.

They left with a phone, some jewellery and a number of bank notes.
