At the High Court in Glasgow, Scott Gartshore, 23, was sentenced to six years and co-accused Jason King, 20, was given seven years and nine months in custody.
Gartshore admitted, and King was convicted of, robbing RS McColls in Bervie Brow, Aberdeen, on January 3 and the Spar in North Deeside Road, Peterculter, Aberdeenshire, on January 11.
In the first store there walked in with their faces masked and armed with knives. A knife was put to the throat of one of the employees and they made off with £1659.11 and a quantity of cigarettes and alcohol.
During the second raid the two - with their faces masked - and again armed with knives robbed the store of £7500 and two bottles of alcohol.
