A MAN who raped a 13-year-old girl at a birthday party and made inappropriate remarks to other girls has been jailed for six years.

Judge Lord Bannatyne told Stuart Hatch, 28: "These events have had an appalling effect on your rape victim."

The High Court in Glasgow heard Hatch – whose pregnant wife was also at the party – raped the girl at a house in Paisley, Renfrewshire, last September. She fled to a friend's home after the attack and was "crying hysterically".

Louise Arrol, defending, said: "The only thing he could do to demonstrate his remorse was by admitting his guilt."
