SNP takes on Westminster over party drug

The SNP has sparked a political row between Holyrood and Westminster after one of its most senior MPs branded the Home Secretary “foolish” for failing to ban a controversial party drug linked to the deaths of three young people.

Stewart Hosie, the party’s deputy leader at Westminster, accused Alan Johnson and the UK Government of dragging their feet amid a growing public clamour for mephedrone to be classified as illegal.
