Soldier 'stabbed in the heart'

A PATHOLOGIST yesterday told a murder trial that a guardsman with the Scots Guards died from a stab wound through the heart.

Dr Julia Bell was giving evidence at the trial of 31-year-old Barry McGrory who denies murdering 28-year-old Paul McGee on October 25, 2009, at McConnell Road, Lochwinnoch, Renfrewshire.

McGrory has lodged a special defence of incrimination blaming Ian Wallace, which Wallace has denied.

Dr Bell told prosecutor Alastair Carmichael, Mr McGee was stabbed twice.

The trial, taking place at the High Court in Glasgow before temporary judge Rita Rae, QC, continues.
