Student sex attack suspect returns to India

A MALE student who is wanted by police in connection with a sex attack on a woman has returned to his homeland of India.

The attack in Pilrig Park, Edinburgh, on Sunday, July 22, left a 23-year-old woman with serious facial injuries.

Police in India are liaising with Scottish authorities to try and trace the 25-year-old man and have him extradited back to Scotland. The UK has a complicated extradition process in place with India but the Scottish authorities are hopeful the student will be sent back to Edinburgh for questioning.
