TWO teenagers have been charged in connection with the thefts of garden gnomes in north-east Scotland.

Police said yesterday two 18-year-olds had been charged and a report sent to the procurator fiscal after the discovery of 33 gnomes believed to have been taken from gardens in Aberdeenshire. Police have renewed an appeal for their owners to come forward. Constable Shonagh MacGregor, of the Banff community policing team, said any owners who were "reluctant" to go to the police station to reclaim their ornaments could call police and make alternative arrangements.
