TWO more people have been held in connection with drug offences as police continue to investigate the death of a teenage girl at a nightclub.
Regane MacColl fell ill at Glasgow nightspot The Arches at the weekend and police have linked her death to red "mortal kombat" tablets.
Police have made three ecstasy seizures and arrested seven people since Sunday morning, but say they are not currently being linked to the 17-year-old's death.
A 22-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday after officers searched a property in Shiel Drive, Larkhall, and found tablets believed to be ecstasy. A second man, also aged 22, was held in Clydebank over alleged drug offences.
It comes after two men were arrested in Coatbridge on Monday.
Around 200 mortal kombat ecstasy tablets, which have an image of a dragon on them, were seized at a property in Tantallon Drive and a 19-year-old man was arrested.
Around 160 ecstasy tablets, not the mortal kombat type, were recovered at a house in Coatbridge's Drummore Avenue several hours later and another 19-year-old man was arrested.
Police said two men aged 18 and 20 were arrested at The Arches in the early hours of Sunday morning in connection with alleged drugs offences. A 19-year-old woman was also arrested in Clydebank on Sunday.
Ms MacColl, from Clydebank in West Dunbartonshire, was a pupil at the town's St Peter the Apostle High School and head teacher Linda Booth has paid tribute to the "popular, hardworking and enthusiastic" student.
There are fears over the content of the mortal kombat tablets after four other young people were hospitalised after taking what was thought to be the same type of pill.
