A man who secretly filmed Tommy Sheridan allegedly confessing to visiting a swingers’ club was paid £1500 to disappear to a caravan park for a week after its contents were made public, a court has heard.
George McNeilage, 46, was given the cash by the News of the World, using it to flee media attention to Flamingo Land, North Yorkshire. The High Court in Glasgow heard that Mr McNeilage received the money in addition to the £200,000 offered for the covert video.
