A WOMAN has appeared in court charged in connection with the death of a mother and daughter who died a budget hotel.

Linsey Cotton was led into the dock at Paisley Sheriff Court yesterday in handcuffs.

She appeared in private before Sheriff Colin McClory charged with fraud, culpable and reckless conduct and attempting to defeat the ends of justice.

The 31-year-old was arrested by officers investigating the deaths of mother and daughter Margaret and Nicola McDonough.

She made no plea or declaration to the three charges against her at the behind closed doors hearing and was released on bail with special conditions.

Council candidate Margaret, 52, and her social work graduate daughter Nicola , 23, were found with slash wounds at a Premier Inn in Greenock last May.
