Police and emergency services were called to the incident outside a property in the north of the city.

The 20-year-old was found seriously injured and taken by ambulance to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary where he later died.

"Specialist forensic teams have been active around the area and detectives and officers have been carrying out door-to-door enquiries to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

"At this time, I would ask for the assistance of the local community in determining what took place yesterday afternoon. It is possible that you heard or witnessed a disturbance on Bardowie Street and if so I would ask you to contact police immediately.

"Any information received will greatly assist us in determining how this young man lost his life."
