A man is expected to appear in court in connection with the deaths of two people in Dundee.

Police were called to the Drumlanrig Drive area of the city on Sunday following reports of the deaths.

A man aged 32 and a 43-year-old woman were found dead.

A 42-year-old man has been arrested and is expected to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court on Monday.

The Daily Record reported the man and woman who died had been attending a vigil for an 18-year-old man thought to have fallen from a cliff.

Emergency services were alerted to the incident at Arbroath cliffs in Angus at about 1pm on Saturday.

A multi-agency search operation was launched involving a coastguard helicopter, rescue teams and lifeboat crews.

Search efforts are continuing on Monday.

On Saturday, Ralph Smith, the missing teenager, was wearing a blue jacket, blue jeans and blue and red trainers.

He is about 5ft 10ins, with short light brown hair and blue eyes.

Chief Inspector David McIntosh said: "We have carried out extensive multi-agency searches of the coastline for Ralph over the weekend and these will continue today, with support from the Police Scotland air support unit and specialist Police Scotland search teams.

"We know Arbroath cliffs continues to be a popular area for walking and whilst we ask the public to report any information that could assist us with our search for Ralph, please be mindful of your own safety and do not put yourself in any danger.

"Our specialist search teams have the appropriate training and equipment to carry out searches of the water and coastline. If you have any information, please contact 101 or speak to any police officer."
