A 34-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an alleged indecent assault in Aberdeenshire.

The attack is alleged to have happened at Tannery Street, Banff, on Wednesday March 1.

Police are keen to speak to a man who stopped to help the victim.

Detective Sergeant Rhona Di Meola, who led the investigation, said: "Police Scotland would like to thank the public for all assistance provided to officers during this inquiry.

"Inquiries are still ongoing and I would urge any member of the public who has any further information and hasn't already spoken to police to contact us.

"In particular, we would still like to speak to a man who was in the area at the time and stopped to provide assistance."
