A cash machine has been stolen from a store in Dumfries and Galloway.

Police Scotland said the Old Blacksmiths Shop at Gretna Green was broken into overnight on Thursday and the cash machine was stolen.

Detective Sergeant Hugh McCombe said: "Enquiries are at an early stage, however it is clear that this theft would have required a number of people and a vehicle to remove this cash machine.

"We want to hear from anyone who may have been in the Gretna Green area on Thursday 1 or into the early hours of Friday 2 June to get in touch if they saw or heard anything suspicious."

Police said there is no indication at this stage of how much money the machine contained.
