A man has been charged in connection with the death of another man following a disturbance at a flat in Glasgow which saw 10 other people taken to hospital.

Officers were called to the property in Raithburn Road, Castlemilk, at 4.40am on Tuesday.

The body of a 49-year-old man was found and 10 people, including eight children, were taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

They were all later released after being checked over.

A 41-year-old man was arrested and has been charged in connection with the death. He is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Thursday.

A police spokeswoman said: "Police Scotland can confirm that a 41-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the death of a 49-year old-man in Castlemilk, Glasgow, on Tuesday.

"Around 4.40am on Tuesday, officers were called to a disturbance within a flat in Raithburn Road, where they discovered the body of the man within.

"The 41-year-old man is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Thursday April 5. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
