The St. James’s Place Academy in Edinburgh will officially open its office on Thursday 15 December,  following the successful launch of their two training programmes in 2016.

Currently planning for its third intake of students to follow in the footsteps of those who have already taken advantage of the opportunity, the St. James’s Place Academy is delighted with the outstanding individuals they have already welcomed onto their 2 year career change programme in Edinburgh.

The St. James’s Place Academy provides individuals with an opportunity to change profession and pursue a career in wealth management.

“We run two training courses a year starting in June and December, and are currently looking for outstanding individuals interested in joining our next intake which begins on 12 June next year”, says John Noble, Head of the Academy in Edinburgh.

The Herald:

“We believe this to be an unrivalled development programme because of the opportunity it gives people who have never worked in this field to join the profession and discover the career possibilities it offers.

"This is something entirely new for the majority of people on our courses, though we will have individuals whose previous work experience provides good skills and an awareness of processes which benefit them greatly.”

While some Academy joiners come from a background in financial services, others have previously worked in IT, the armed forces, the oil and gas industry and the legal profession.

The St. James’s Place Academy offers a 2 year career change, training and development programme offering individuals the opportunity to train to be wealth managers and build their own wealth management business.

The initial six months is the foundation stage of the programme, and is based at the St. James’s Place Academy training centre in Edinburgh.

The remaining 18 months of the programme is designed to provide the knowledge and business skills needed to build a successful career and business in wealth management.

The programme includes completion of the required professional qualifications, leading to the Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning with the Chartered Insurance Institute.
