Anger after rising salary bill for university managers is revealed

UNIVERSITIES have come under fire after The Herald revealed the salaries of senior managers have mushroomed in recent years.

Claire Baker, education spokeswoman for the Scottish Labour Party, hit out after it emerged the salary bill for senior management teams running Scottish universities has risen by a third in five years.

“The question of who runs Scotland’s universities and how much they are paid is very important,” she said.
