Arts academy sets £9000 tuition fees

SCOTLAND'S leading performance arts academy has become the latest institution to set £9000-a-year fees for students from elsewhere in the UK.

Students from England, Northern Ireland and Wales (RUK) will pay £36,000 for four-year degree courses and £27,000 for three-year courses at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland from 2012/13.

The Glasgow-based institution, the former Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, said the charge reflects the exceptionally high cost of programme delivery in conservatoires.
