Blind girl, 13, refused place at special school on cost grounds

A council is going to court to prevent the blind daughter of a serving soldier from going to the special school of her parents’ choice.

Mac and Rosie McGearey want their 13-year-old daughter Ciara, who has a severe visual impairment, epilepsy and learning difficulties, to go to the grant-maintained Royal Blind School in Edinburgh.
