Lecturers call for inquiry into sit-in removal

LECTURERS at Glasgow University are calling for an independent inquiry and the immediate resignation of senior management in the wake of a botched attempt to eject student protesters from a disused campus building.

There were angry scenes on Tuesday as police were sent in to remove a group of students who had been occupying the Hetherington Building as part of a campaign against academic cuts.
