School food row council will not overhaul meals

A local authority at the centre of a row over school meals has insisted the food on offer is adequate.

Scottish schoolgirl Martha Payne's blogs about the lunchtime fare on offer at her primary have become a big hit online.

The nine-year-old Lochgilphead girl has even received the backing of television chef Jamie Oliver, who famously battled for healthier school meals, after he posted on Twitter: “Shocking but inspirational blog. Keep going. Big love from Jamie x”
