HIGHLAND Council insists the primary school week will not be cut for over a year at least, as it seeks savings of £64 million over the next five years.
It was one of the proposals being considered as part of a programme of economies by the authority, which could see the loss of 1,000 jobs. But council leaders said they had listened to the concerns of the public.
