SCOTTISH universities are predicting another competitive year for pupils wanting to get on to courses at the last minute, but said few should miss out.
Those pupils who do not get the grades required for university can enter the so-called Clearing system to secure a place on less popular courses.
However, university applications have risen substantially, in recent years, making competition tougher than in the past.
