Teachers warned against striking

SCOTTISH teachers have been warned against taking industrial action over pension changes which could see them working until the age of 68.

The Educational Institute of Scotland (EIS), which represents 80% of teachers and lecturers, has opened a consultative ballot of members on strike action.

The UK Government has said reform is needed due to the cost of funding retired public sector workers who are living longer.
