Upset by picture on fake website

READING about the conviction of three Fife teenagers in The Herald yesterday brought memories of cyber abuse flooding back for union leader Ann Ballinger.

A lawyer for one of the pupils at Inverkeithing High School, who made racist remarks about their PE teacher, had defended their actions as "trying to be witty".

It was the same reasoning offered by Bishopbriggs High School pupils who created a fake website about Mrs Ballinger when she taught there. The general secretary of the Scottish Secondary Teachers' Association recalled: "I was shocked about the people who had done it because most of them were pupils who I would have said I had a good relationship with.
