Network education partner Leckie & Leckie explains that any career is possible thanks to the help and support of its resources.

You're in the first few steps of paving your way to your own bright future.

To quote Dr Seuss: "You have brains in your head, you have feet in your shoes, you can steer yourself any direction you choose."

You may have already decided what you want to be in life when you leave school but do you know yet what steps you're going to take to get there? Or perhaps you have no idea but you do already have some favourite subjects?

There is a world of possibility out there and by looking at your interests and your strengths you can begin to discover courses or career paths that would suit you.

If you have favourite subjects and/or subjects that you're already doing well in you could start to think about and investigate the career paths these could take you down … perhaps you love health & food technology and have the dream to run a successful restaurant in the city centre of Glasgow.

If English is your strength perhaps one day you'll be a journalist and write for The Herald or become a teacher of English to children in schools on the other side of the world.

Maybe design & manufacture is your subject and you love nothing better than the thought of creating your own furniture lines and selling them across the globe. Perhaps you love maths and physics - strength in these subjects helps towards studying architecture and you could be Charles Rennie Macintosh for the 21st century!

The options are endless … keep in mind Walt Disney's famous quote: "If you can dream it, you can do it."

Young Scot and World of Work have websites that provide loads of really helpful guidance for young people thinking about their future - including choosing subjects, going to college or uni or finding a job.

When you move into 3rd year and begin to choose your options for National 4 and 5 and Higher, Leckie & Leckie have a wide range of resources to meet your study needs for homework, revision and exam practice. We cover 17 subjects at National 4 and 5 level and 14 subjects at Higher level - and we are adding to this range all the time.
