Wholesale delays to exams ruled out

THE Scottish Government is expecting small numbers of school departments to delay the introduction of controversial new exams.

However, Michael Russell, the Education Secretary, has again ruled out the possibility of any wholesale delays across council areas.

The Government has been under pressure to offer a delay to all local authorities after East Renfrewshire opted out of the National 4 and 5 exams – part of the new Curriculum for Excellence (CfE).
