CALLS have been made for emergency vehicles to be automatically exempt from speed cameras after it emerged around four ambulances are issued with tickets every day.

Although ambulances on a call-out are not liable for a fine, the paperwork Scottish Ambulance Service (SAS) bosses need to fill out for this is a "substantial administrative chore", Conservative transport spokesman Alex Johnstone said.
