Big rise in number of men dying from skin cancer

The number of men dying from skin cancer has more than doubled in the last 30 years, according to the latest figures from Cancer Research UK.

In the late 1970s fewer than 400 men died each year from malignant melanoma, the deadliest form of the disease, but now more than 1100 die annually.

Skin cancer is a largely preventable disease, prompting experts to express concern at the steady rise in death rates.
