Breakthrough for male contraceptive

SCOTTISH scientists claim they are close to making a new type of male contraceptive after finding a gene that is essential for the development of sperm.

Edinburgh University researchers say that by regulating the gene they could prevent sperm from maturing completely, temporarily rendering them ineffective.
