Coconut oil could help clean teeth

Coconut oil fights tooth decay and could be used in toothpaste.

Scientists found if treated with digestive enzymes the oil was a powerful killer of mouth bugs.

Bacteria it attacked included streptococcus mutans, a major cause of tooth decay. Further studies will look at other microbes it may combat.
