Up to 10,000 Scottish GPs are expected to join the action on June 21 in protest at pension reforms, leading to thousands of non-urgent operations and appointments being postponed.
Now UK Health Secretary Andrew Lansley has written to the British Medical Association (BMA), saying that GPs could catch up with missed work by working on Saturday, June 23.
