The Healthcare Environment Inspectorate said Stracathro Hospital by Brechin in Angus was "generally clean" and compliance with infection control precautions had "significantly improved" since an earlier inspection.
But it found an example where a shower was being used by a patient with a known infection and a wooden seat in the area "could not be effectively cleaned between patients".
