A WOMAN with multiple sclerosis is bidding to become the first Scottish patient to undergo cutting-edge stem cell treatment in a Russian clinic.

Lucy Clarke, 38, hopes to raise £40,000 via crowdfunding to fund the procedure, which will transplant her own stem cells into her body.

Lucy was diagnosed with MS nine years ago. With her condition worsening she has opted for treatment unavailable in the UK.

Her family have now set up a campaign website. Any surplus money will be used to set up a charity to support others with MS.
