A HOSPITAL inspection has found there is no routine screening for cognitive impairment among older patients admitted to the main hospital in the Highlands.

More could also be done to help with the basic needs of patients suffering from impairment and dementia, the report said.

It also reported the ward and hospital environment needed to do more to help patients.

But inspectors found areas where Raigmore Hospital in Inverness is perfoming well in relation to the care provided to older people, but Healthcare Improvement Scotland also found weaknesses.
