A PRIVATE hospital in Glasgow has been praised for the quality of care by health watchdogs.

Ross Hall Hospital was given either 'good' or 'very good' ratings for care, environment, staffing, management and information for patients.

However, the hospital was told to make improvements to infection control and risk assessment after the unannounced inspection by Healthcare Improvement Scotland.

Inspectors found radiator temperatures were too hot, putting patients at risk of burns and there were worn areas of sinks and cupboards which were difficult to clean properly.

The hospital, in Crookston, offers a range of treatments including cardio- thoracic, colorectal, cosmetic, gastroenterology, orthopaedic surgery, plastic surgery and general surgery. The inspection was carried out from May 7-8.

Susan Brimelow, chief inspector of HIS, said: "During this inspection we found the service was providing very good care by a committed and caring multidisciplinary team."
