A POTENTIALLY life-threatening heart rhythm disorder is not being properly managed in the UK, according to a new report.
Atrial fibrillation (AF), which affects more than 60,000 people in Scotland, can cause the blood to pool and clot, increasing the risk of stroke five-fold.
But many of the 70%-80% of AF patients who could benefit from anti-clotting therapies such as warfarin are not receiving the drugs, say experts.
