Scientists call for fruit juice sugar warning

FRUIT juice cartons should be labelled to make it clear they contain just as much sugar as some fizzy canned drinks, researchers say.

Professor Naveed Sattar and Dr Jason Gill, from Glasgow University's Institute of Cardiovascular and Medical Sciences, said fruit juices should not be included in the current five-a-day guidelines as high intake was "counterproductive" to a healthy lifestyle.
